LAFAYETTE, La — The Ragin’ Cajuns spent the early part of their bye week focusing on future opponents. But on Wednesday, Billy Napier’s squad shifted its sights to the team’s next matchup: an SEC showdown in Starkville against Mississippi State.

MSU has a new head coach this season in former Penn State offensive coordinator, Joe Morehead. Last week the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback Nick Fitzgerald served a one game suspension for violating team rules.

Unfortunately for Louisiana, the Cajuns will now get just one game tape of MSU’s new offense under Fitzgerald after the Bulldog’s play Kansas State this Saturday.

Napier said Wednesday that in order to supplement his team’s lack of data on its next opponent, the Cajuns are relying on old school film and studying trends.

“Everyone has a history, and certainly you have to do your due diligence relative to who they are,” Napier said. “What their identity is — and it is different to what players they have. I’m anxious to see what we get out of them this weekend against Kansas State.”
