LAFAYETTE (KATC) — As the Ragin’ Cajuns begin the final weekend of fall camp, Billy Napier is nowhere near ready to name a starter Friday.

The only nugget Napier let on was that the decision swings back and forth, “if I start thinking one way, the other has a phenomenal day,” he told reporters during his final camp availability. Andre Nunez has said all camp that it’s he and Levi Lewis’s job to make that decision difficult.

In all likeliness Napier’s decision will not be made public until week one when the Cajuns host Grambling State at Cajun Field.

Saturday’s closed-doors scrimmage will be the final live-tackling the team does. Napier said last Saturday’s scrimmage was executed as a live game, and this week’s will be the same. He said with a new staff and new communication rules it’s not just the players who need reps, but the coaches need to iron out their own game day roles too.
