LSU expects sophomore cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. back Saturday at Vanderbilt.
The team greatly missed his presence as the Tigers allowed an SEC record 623 yards passing yards to Mississippi State in Saturday's opening day loss.
Stingley was a late scratch after being hospitalized with a non-COVID related illness Friday night.
"When you get your guys back, your first team guys back, you get a little more confidence," said safety Jacoby Stevens. "Saturday we were missing one of the best, if not the best corner in the nation, so always getting him back is a positive."
Stingley was a 2019 All-American. He intercepted six passes, and recorded 21 pass defenses. LSU plays Vanderbilt Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
