LSU's new defensive coordinator appears to have Acadiana ties as the school is expected to hire Minnesota Vikings defensive backs coach Daronte Jones.
The Athletic's Bruce Feldman reported on it first, Monday afternoon, after Jones and Ed Orgeron met.

Jones, who spent 2020 with the Minnesota Vikings has an extensive coaching history. In the early 2000s he served as an assistant coach at Jeanerette and Franklin high schools. Since then he's coached college football and in the NFL.
Before joining the Vikings this season, Jones worked in Miami for four seasons. Jones has bounced around the college ranks before hand. His first college job came after working at Jeanerette. He was the defensive coordinator at Bowie State in Maryland, where he helped the Bulldogs have one of the nations top defenses in division II.
