LSU starting quarterback Myles Brennan is likely out for the rest of the season, according to Coach Ed Orgeron.

Coach Orgeron said during a Wednesday morning SEC teleconference that Brennan would not likely return to the field unless "some miraculous thing happens."

Brennan has been dealing with an abdominal injury that he suffered during an October 10 game against Missouri.

"We're looking at seeing if he can come back, to rehab," Orgeron said on the SEC coaches teleconference. "Or the best thing we'd do is go ahead an go through an operation that could help him out. We haven't made a final decision. It doesn't look like he's going to be back unless some miraculous thing happens."

On Tuesday, November 10, the SEC postponed Saturday's LSU game against No. 1 Alabama due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the LSU program.

Because LSU has a game tentatively scheduled for December 12, the university says that the opportunity to reschedule the Alabama at LSU game will need to be evaluated.

The rescheduling of games on the remaining SEC football schedule may include December 19 as a playing date.
