Florida and Alabama were picked to win their respective divisions in the SEC preseason media poll.
The defending champion LSU Tigers were picked second in the western division. Alabama was picked to win the SEC championship. Since 1992 the champion has been correctly picked seven times.
LSU placed ten players on the three preseason all-conference teams, the second most behind Alabama's 13.
