BATON ROUGE — *** UPDATE LSU officially made Faulk their running backs coach Wednesday.

As expected, Kevin Faulk will be named LSU's running backs coach.
Bruce Feldman broke the news Tuesday night minutes after news of Tommie Robinson's departure surfaced.
South Carolina courted Robinson, who's contract expires at the end of March, several weeks ago. It was then that Orgeron said he had a "plan B" in mind, and that was promoting Acadiana native Faulk to running backs coach. Robinson didn't end up with the Gamecocks but instead will head to Texas A&M to join Jimbo Fisher's staff.
Faulk played high school ball at Carencro, before an All-American career with LSU. In 1999 Faulk was drafted in the second round of the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He won three Super Bowls and was eventually inducted into the team's hall of fame.
He rushed for 3,607 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career.
Faulk, originally, joined Ed Orgeron's staff in January of 2018 as the Director of Player Development.
