Monday, LSU’s head coach Ed Orgeron, announced Bo Pelini will be returning to the Tigers as its defensive coordinator. Pelini was on the LSU coaching staff for 3 years helping them to the BCS National Championship in 2007.
After 5 seasons as Youngstown State's head coach, Pelini officially resigned on Monday. Under Pelini the Penguins went 33-28 overall and appeared in the FCS National Championship Game in 2016.
Prior to his time in Youngstown, Pelini was the head coach at Nebraska from 2008-14.
As of Monday afternoon, Pelini’s hire still awaits approval from LSU Board of Supervisors.
