BATON ROUGE — Ed Orgeron took a national approach in this year's signing class, landing his fewest in-state recruits, eight, since coming to LSU. That approach left the Tigers vulnerable to flips and the Tigers got burned three times Wednesday.

Clemson flipped defensive back Malcolm Green, who is from Virginia. Georgia kept in-state recruit Jerome Burton. Maryland stole DC native and five-star commit Rakim Jarrett.

Still, 247 Sports ranks LSU's class 5th best in the nation. Ed Orgeron signed 19 players, overall.

The group included one from Acadiana, Westgate's Kayshon Boutte who mulled over a strong push from Alabama. Boutte is listed as LSU third best commit.
