Friday, it was announced there will be no reuniting select and non-select high school sports for future playoffs.
The final decision came as Louisiana High School Athletic Association members voted at the LHSAA’S annual convention.
According to our media partners at the Advocate, the two separate proposals in attempt to bring the two together, were both denied.
First proposal by the LHSAA failed 105-203, attempting to keeping the split with a required 1.5 multiplier.
The second proposal created the most attention, when North Vermilion's Tommy Byler's proposal passed 179-165 initially, but did not meet the 2/3 vote required to make a constitutional change.
Ironically Lincoln Prep's Executive Director, Gordon Ford claims the original split was never ratified by a 2/3 vote, calling it unconstitutional.
The original split began back in 2013.
