With many Lake Charles schools displaced by Hurricane Laura, preparing for football season won't be easy for schools around Calcasieu parish. But one neighboring school is offering up its facilities.
Welsh opened its practice field to St. Louis Catholic Wednesday morning.
The Saints became the first Calcasieu Parish school to begin practicing. The CPSB won't allow public schools to begin practicing until September 21, two weeks before the season begins.
Many schools will be displaced still come opening night and creative scheduling and shared facilities will become the norm.
