ESA cross country wins boys and girls titles

The Episcopal School of Acadiana won both the boys and girls LHSAA cross country titles, marking the school's 88th and 89th championships, according to the school.

The wins marks the 7th consecutive class B championship for the boys team. Falcons runner Christian Herpin lead the team with a second place finish, earning small school all-state honors. Midland's Steven Habetz also earned all-state.

The ESA girls class B title is the fifth championship in six years. Aline Malek paced the team with a second place finish. Malek and Taylor Guillotte also earned all-state. Lake Arthur's Deonna Brister also earned all-state.

Day two of two day cross country meet begins Tuesday for class 3A-5A.
