Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns add 10 to the roster during the early signing period on Wednesday and among that group comes a dual athlete quarterback out of Monroe.
Hunter Herring is in the midst of leading Ouachita Christian to their second consecutive title.
In his most recent performance, the senior rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns, including a 10-yard score in overtime to help the Eagles pull off the 36-34 victory against Vermilion Catholic. Giving the Cajuns coaching staff more confidence in their decision.
“He's an elite baseball player that kind of made a decision he wanted to go the quarterback route” said head coach Billy Napier. “He's got character he comes from a great family, and certainly you can see him developing each and every opportunity he has to compete. He's a really good athlete. Not only is he a good passer but this guy can do a lot with his legs so we're excited about him and can't wait to work with him."
Herring and his team are now preparing to face top-seeded Calvary Baptist for the title at Northwestern State University on December 26th.
