Kaplan’s Abby Trahan has always had a knack at showcasing her starpower. as a senior in 2016. She led the Lady Pirates to a state title while winning 3-A MVP. But that wasn’t enough.

"I’m greedy," Trahan said. "Getting that feeling raising that trophy. getting all that. that just made me want it more."

So Trahan packed her bags to head north to Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania….where the pitcher wasted no time setting her bar high.

"Walking in the coaches office they asked me my goals. I want to win conference championship and I want to win pitcher of the year my entire time here."

In Trahan’s two seasons with the red flash…she’s won the northeast conference rookie and pitcher of the year… along with leading St. Francis to two NEC titles…and two NCAAregional appearances.

"Whether I’m playing whoever, i’m going to pitch how I’m supposed to pitch. Sometimes I’m like wow, and then sometimes I’m like I deserve this."

But now Trahan is accepting a new challenge. The junior is transferring to Southern Miss. And while a new conference brings new challenges…the goals stay the same.

"I don’t think I can leave college without two more rings and two more pitchers of the year. Two more conference championships and two more pitchers of the year. Then I can die happy."
