Ascension Episcopal Gators

2017 Record: 8-3

How it Happened: Despite battling injuries through out the year, the Gators entered the playoffs with an 8-2 record and deep playoff aspirations, but inexperience and inconsistencies ended their season with in opening round playoff loss.

2017’s injuries kept key players off the field as Ascension Episcopal’s season ended early. But with a glass half-full mentality, the Gators are embracing the unexpected reps a few hatchlings got. Players like Cole Simon, now a sophomore quarterback, started more than half of AES’s games. As a freshman ,Will Kerstetter raced onto the scene next to his brother Seth. And Jay Brown picked up defensive responsibilities in 2017, but should factor in as a primary back for AES as a senior. Third year head coach Matthew Desormeaux expects these unexpected standout a year ago, to be a big reason the Gators make another run.
