The dream of playing basketball in the NBA continued for some athletes with ties to Louisiana.
Following the draft, Lafayette native Corey Davis Jr. signed as a free agent with the Washington Wizards.

As a senior at the University of Houston, Davis was a unanimous first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection, averaging a team-high 17 points and making 111 3-pointers as the Cougars advanced to the Sweet 16.
Louisiana’s JaKeenan Gant will get a chance to showcase his abilities with the Indiana Pacers. Last season with the Ragin Cajuns Gant was voted to the All-Sun Belt team by averaging 20.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.3 assists. The two seasons Gant played for the Cajuns he was also named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

LSU freshman Naz Reid has agreed to a two-way deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Reid was LSU’s second-leading scorer averaging 13.7 points, and 7.2 rebounds and selected to the SEC All-Freshman team. Reid played a pivotal part in the Tiger’s campaign that produced the school’s first SEC regular season title in a decade.
