(KATC) — Following a pair of wins at Coastal Carolina over the weekend Ragin’ Cajuns baseball still finds itself in last place in the Western division of the Sun Belt Conference.

Still, Louisiana does still have a good chance to make it to the SBC Tournament — especially if their bats stay hot. The Cajuns posted season highs of 28 runs and 40 hits over the weekend in Conway.

Interestingly enough this season the Cajuns total offensive numbers in Sun Belt play are slightly higher away from Lafayette then they are at home.

“Our ball park plays a little differently than a lot of ball parks,” said head coach Tony Robichaux on Monday. “You get a north wind that blows out or something. Our ball park is a pitcher’s ball park. When they step on a ball and they didn’t hit it good and it goes off the wall. That fuels their belief system too.”
