LAFAYETTE (KATC) — Madeleine Sylvester is in the midst of a record breaking senior year for Opelousas Catholic’s Lady Vikes soccer team. Through 24 games this season, the senior forward scored 38 goals setting a new single season school record.
Sylvester is just the third Lady Vikes player in school history to score more than 100 goals in her high school career. She credits her natural speed as her biggest asset.
“That position (forward) is need for speed and I’m very fast so I like it because usually everybody just hands me the ball and I get to score,” Sylvester said.
Sylvester says she plans to attend LSUE in the fall on a soccer scholarship.
