LAFAYETTE (press release) – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball coach Bob Marlin will be part of an inaugural 10-member class as Pensacola State College announced earlier this week its 2019 Hall of Fame Class.

PSC will celebrate the Pirates’ rich athletic history with a ribbon cutting and induction ceremony for the Pensacola State College Athletics Hall of Fame on February 16, 2019.

Marlin, who was inducted into the Florida Junior College Hall of Fame in 2007, served as head basketball coach at then-Pensacola Junior College from 1990-95, posting a

record and winning 100 games faster than any coach in school history. Twenty-seven of his players received scholarships to play at four-year schools.

In 1993, he led Pensacola State College to the national junior college championship and was named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Coach of the Year.

“Pensacola State has a long and storied sports and athletic tradition,” said PSC Athletic Director Bill Hamilton in a release. “This Hall of Fame will stand as a reminder for all time that these awesome individuals got their start here.”

In his 26th season as a head coach, Marlin has posted a 511-281 record, including a 163-115 record in nine seasons at Louisiana. A six-time Coach of the Year recipient, Marlin guided the Ragin’ Cajuns to a school-record 27 wins in 20: 17-18, the 2018 Sun Belt Conference regular-season title and an appearance in the National Invitation Tournament.
