New Orleans Saints rookie defensive end Marcus Davenport is expected to be sidelined for a month with a toe injury, according to a report by NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport on Wednesday.
Davenport, was spotted in a walking boot after recording two sacks in Sunday’s 30-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Davenport has 11 tackles, four sacks and one forced fumble this season. The Saints are now expected to rely on Alex Okafor to pick up the slack.
The timing of Davenport’s injury couldn’t be worse for New Orleans as the Saints host the 8-0 Rams in the Superdome on Sunday.
