LAFAYETTE (KATC) — Few players on the Ragin’ Cajuns roster are embracing the "clean slate" mentality a coaching change brings like defensive back Kendall Johnson.

After three seasons at Nevada, Johnson finishes up his eligibility at home in Lafayette. The former St. Thomas More product admitted that it bothered him when the Cajuns didn’t offer him a scholarship out of high school. He then named those who did.

But with a return home, he says playing in front of his friends and family doesn’t add pressure, it frees him of it.

"At first I thought it would be more pressure on me being home. But it’s great. It’s a stress release being home," he said. "It’s what I’ve done my whole life. It’s relaxing and allows me to play more free."
