YOUNGSVILLE, La. (June 24, 2018)-  In their return to Fabacher Field after a four-game road trip, the Acadiana Cane Cutters recorded an incredible walk-off win against the Texas Marshalls with a score of 9-8.

Mason Corbett (Texas A&M) scored the first run for the Cane Cutters in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Koi Westbrook (LSUE). Corbett had been walked to start off the inning. He then hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to score Rhett McCall (Lamar). McCall later recorded an RBI single in the eighth to score Preston Faulkner (SE Louisiana).

The Cutters began an explosive rally in the bottom of the ninth. Cole Taylor (Texas A&M) kicked things off by reaching first base on an error and proceeding to steal second. Cole Secrest (Lamar), the Powerade Player of the Game, scored Taylor with an RBI single for the first run of the inning. After four more runs from the Cane Cutters, Taylor was walked with two outs to bring Secrest back up to the plate. Secrest proceeded to hit a walk-off single to drive in the winning run.

Secrest was three for six with three singles and two RBIs. Relief pitcher, Hayden Erbe (ULL) also had a great night on the mound, taking over for Brice Armistead (Blinn) in the fourth inning. He recorded four scoreless innings, striking out eight batters.

The Cutters play the Marshals again Monday night to finish the series.
