LAFAYETTE, La. – Riding a season-best five game win streak, the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team will host Louisiana Tech in a midweek non-conference game on Wednesday at 6 p.m. M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

The Series
 
Louisiana holds a 79-65 lead in the all-time series against Louisiana Tech after splitting a pair of games a year ago. The home team won each time as the Bulldogs edged the Cajuns 6-5 in 13 innings in Ruston, La. before the Ragin’ Cajuns responded with a 3-1 victory later in the season at Russo Park.
 
The Cajuns are 28-11 all-time against La Tech under head coach Tony Robichaux. Louisiana has won 17 of the last 18 home meetings against the Bulldogs with the only loss coming in 2016.
 
Scouting Louisiana
 
Louisiana (20-17) picked up its first sweep of the season last weekend at Appalachian State winning 4-3, 5-4 and 6-2 to get over .500 for the first time on the year. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 8-2 in midweek games this season including a 4-0 mark at home.
 
Senior Kennon Fontenot has reached base in 17 straight contests, while Zach LaFleur and Gavin Bourgeois each have 11-game streaks coming into the week.
 
Junior Daniel Lahare continues to hold the top average on the club hitting .294 with five doubles, a triple, two home runs and 12 RBI. Bourgeois is second with a .291 average and a team-best 10 doubles.
 
Scouting Louisiana Tech
 
Louisiana Tech (25-13) is coming off of a series loss to Charlotte over the weekend dropping the first two games 9-1 and 6-4 before claiming the series finale 10-6. The Bulldogs are 6-4 in midweek games this season after a 2-0 loss at LSU last week.
 
La Tech enters the week ranked third in the nation in ERA at 2.56. Offensively, the Bulldogs are hitting .272 as a team with 58 doubles, 13 triples and 31 home runs while averaging 5.4 runs per game.
 
Hunter Wells paces the squad with a .331 average including six doubles, two triples, two home runs and 17 RBI. Louisiana Tech has six players on the roster with 20-plus RBI on the year led by Tanner Huddleston with 29 coming on seven doubles, one triple and five home runs.
