Rebound: Rental payback

Part of efforts to help you rebound is making sure people do what's right - keeping track of how people treat our community.

One month ago, we introduced you to Lauren Rogers, who had a Florida beach trip booked for nearly a year.

At the time, Grayton Coastal Rentals canceled Rogers' nearly $4,000 reservation because of the pandemic.

The company refused to give Rogers a refund, until she and KATC continued making phone calls, asking why they would not refund since the agency canceled the trip.

Since our story in May, the company has agreed to a full refund after initially offering to substitute another week.

Rogers said, "Me and my family both are extremely grateful for everything that you've done with KATC and running the article on the newscast. They were very much aware of your pursuit of trying to get us a refund."
