Chicory's Coffee and Cafe first opened in Grand Coteau several years ago.
Just a few weeks ago, the restaurant moved into the newly renovated Palace Cafe, a classic location in Opelousas. Just as they started to get going, the pandemic hit, and the restauarant had to close to diners.
Since the stay-at-home order has been in place, Executive Chef Patricia Lewis and general manager Wesley Guidroz have done a pivot to offer carryout and delivery.
"I think what makes it special is the employees we have and that we hire and also the environment that we bring," said Guidroz. "It's such a good family-friendly atmosphere."
