We've finally made it to the weekend here in south Louisiana, and is typical this time of year there is plenty going on across the state.
The big Crowley Rice Festival has kicked off and the forecast for it, or any activities, are looking good.
Clouds will begin to break through Friday morning and eventually the sun will start to come out in the afternoon and evening, warming temperatures to around 74.
This will set the stage for the rest of the weekend which is shaping up to be a nice one with mostly sunny skies, although temperatures will run a little above normal with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
A warm stretch of days won't last all that long with the next front expected to arrive Monday afternoon, bringing along some potential severe weather.
The finer details for Monday have yet to emerge in the forecast so be sure to stay tuned over the weekend as we work on getting a little more consensus from the forecast.
