After a stretch of beautiful weather across Acadiana the last several days it's time to start transitioning to a stormy pattern and priming the atmosphere for a round of severe weather.
You can find a full rundown of that severe threat on KATC.com but this space will be used for a quick Thursday forecast which will cover the next 24-48 hours.
Clouds have been moving in to the region overnight and they'll continue to thicken up through the day as moisture streams in from the Gulf of Mexico.
Despite a little less sunshine the temperatures will still be warmer hitting around 73 with winds from the south around 10-15 mph through the afternoon.
Lows will be kept in check by the clouds Thursday night and will only get down to the upper 60s by Friday morning, which promises to be another warm, muggy, breezy day.
Showers and thunderstorms will start to move through late Friday night into early Saturday morning and will be capable of producing hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.
Make sure to stay tuned to KATC both on-air and online for all the forecast updates.
