In Vermilion Parish, the river has already risen a foot. However, Travis Guillory reports the storm surge is not pushing the water north yet.
Once Hurricane Delta comes on shore, the storm surge can push the Vermilion River waters to head north into Lafayette.
Curfews are in place for the area, and officials warn anyone who decides to ride out the storm, they will not be able to come out and make any rescues until Saturday morning.
