In Abbeville, the most popular man of the season, Santa Claus, was spotted in the town center visiting with children and adults, hours before he makes tonight's deliveries.

As people drive around Magdalen Square, they notice something unusual in the park - Santa Claus stands there waving in his bright red suit. Children and adults stop by to say "Merry Christmas!"

He was there with a green friend of his. The Grinch was standing by his side spreading holiday cheer.

"It's our last day," said Santa. "And my friend the Grinch came to say hi before I have to go back to the North Pole."

Holiday cheer and holiday scares.

According to Mr. Claus, the Grinch won't be stealing Christmas this year.

"With the way 2020 has been going, we sat down over some hot cocoa and decided if we teamed up we could finish 2020 off a little bit better."

But with a big night ahead, Mr. Claus couldn't stay long.

"I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope everybody wakes up with something nice under their tree tomorrow."

The visit was just a quick detour before Santa continued his trip across the world. Track his progress with the NORAD Santa Tracker.
