Abbeville Council to consider Phase II of streetscape, airport work

The Abbeville City Council meets today at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Meeting Room, 101 North State Street.

Among the items on the agenda is a bid award for work at the airport.

Elliott Construction was the low bidder for the Rehabilitation of the Runway and Partial Taxiway project, with a base bid of $1.5 million.

Also on the agenda is an item that would authorize Sellers & Associates, Inc. to proceed with the LA 14 Downtown Abbeville Streetscaping Phase II Project (Concord Street) final plans and specifications. The Federal Cost Share for the work is $304,000; Abbeville's share is $76,000.

The council also will consider approving payment #5 for the Downtown Abbeville Streetscaping project n the amount of $33,137.00 to Glenn Lege Construction, LLC.

Megan Plowden is scheduled to address the council about a Stop the Violence March in memory of her son, Dylan Plowden.

Also on the agenda are Rev. Osborne Taylor and Wade Buchanan, with the "Committee for unsolved murders."
