The 2020 Hurricane Season has added another system to the total with the development of Tropical Depression 31 down in the northern Caribbean.
TD 31 is expected to strengthen quickly and may rapidly intensify into a strong Category 2 storm, borderline Category 3, as it approaches Central America.
Once it becomes a tropical storm it will be given the name Iota, it poses no threat to the Gulf of Mexico.
