Temperatures heating up this week

and last updated

After a soggy couple of days across Acadiana we will start to transition out of this wet pattern and into a hot, dry stretch across the area.

The heavy moisture that has fueled the showers the last several days will lift north as a ridge of high pressure expands across the area.

Temperatures as a result will start to warm up and by the weekend we'll be looking at highs sitting in the mid 90s and a heat index pushing well into the triple digits.

Wednesday will be the transition day with a few scattered showers and storms possible in the afternoon and highs that will just reach up to the 90 degree mark.

A few showers will be possible in the afternoon but most of us will be staying dry, and the rest of the week the rain chances will be minimal.

Heating up heading into the weekend and even into next week it looks like the weather will stay quiet but hot.
