We are back to a warmer than average day on Wednesday with winds shifting to the south and dragging that front back across the area, this time as a warm front.

Highs in the afternoon will stretch up into the mid and upper 80s with a heat index that gets into the lower 90s by the end of the day.

This comes along with plenty of sunshine which will last through the next several days with nothing but a couple of clouds to break up the blue skies.

The next front is still on tap to swing through the area late Friday afternoon sparking widespread showers and ushering in a big cool down for the weekend.

As always there's plenty going on across Acadiana this weekend and you couldn't ask for a better forecast.
