The weekend is officially here and as promised the weather looks absolutely perfect.
A chilly Saturday morning, temperatures in the 40s, will give way to highs in the low 70s in the afternoon with bountiful amounts of sunshine.
Dewpoints will stay low so it'll be crisp outside and the evening will cool down nicely with lows on Saturday night scheduled to drop into the low 50s.
The forecast will slowly start to turn around on Sunday with winds picking up out of the south, dragging in plenty of moisture to the area and increasing cloud cover.
Clouds will thicken for the first half of next work week as a front moves in to Acadiana from the west which will be responsible for our next round of active weather.
There's a possibility we could see some severe weather on Wednesday when the front moves through, however, it should be pointed out that there's a lot of question marks surrounding the forecast.
Right now (Friday afternoon) it looks like the worst of the weather will likely stay north of Acadiana, but the forecast should be monitored through the weekend.
