Storms offer some heat relief

and last updated

Heat Advisory will remain up until 4:00 pm Wednesday with our highs expected to sky rocket up to around 94, heat index of 108.

The heat will set in early before the next "cool" front pushes in from the north by the late afternoon/early evening.

Showers and thunderstorms will fire up as the front makes its way through Acadiana, and some of the storms may need to be watched for severe potential.

This isn't expected to be a widespread severe event but there's certainly enough energy for a couple of intense flair ups.

While the front won't provide us with anything cool, or even that dry, it will at least push temperatures back down to their normal range.

Scattered showers continue into Thursday with the front hanging offshore and the daily rain chances will become a part of the forecast again by the weekend.
