St. Landry Parish has released projected return to school dates for students under its recently adopted Phase Two learning plan.
Monday, September 21, will be the start date for students with complex needs ONLY. The remaining students will follow. Students in Pre-K - 4th grade will be given further information regarding the staggered return by their respective principals.
The projected return schedule is below:
In-Person learning for students with complex needs
Start date: Monday, September 21, 2020
PreK-4:
- Will be at school following the regular schedule Monday-Friday
5th-6th:
- Will be hybrid until the district transitions students back to school
- Will follow the district A/B and alternate Fridays schedule with the rest of the district
7th-12th:
- Will be hybrid until the district transitions students back to school
- Will follow the district A/B and alternate Fridays schedule
*Complex needs will transition to full days with the rest of the district. St. Landry's A/B and alternating Fridays schedule is below*
Pre-K - 4th grade
Start date: Week of September 28
Students in Pre-K - 4th grade will have virtual instruction in the morning and professional development/transition to face-to-face instruction in the afternoon on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 28 and 29).
On Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1), they will have staggered entry onto campus based on administrative decision.
On Friday, Oct. 2, all Pre-K - 4th grade students will arrive on campus.
Virtual Learning Academy students in Pre-K - 4th grades begin classes on Friday, Oct. 2.
5th - 12th grade
Start date: Week of September 28
Students in 5th - 12th grade will receive virtual instruction in the morning and professional development/transition to face-to-face in the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1).
On Friday, Oct. 2, 5th - 12th grade students will begin a hybrid staggered entry. Students in Group B will report to school on Friday.
All Virtual Learning Academy students will begin classes on Friday, Oct. 2.
For the week of Monday, October 5 - Friday, October 9, students will follow the hybrid model:
Group A - M, W, F
Group B - T, R
Students who remain at home should continue to receive virtual instruction.
