OPELOUSAS - There will be a meeting at the St. Landry Parish School Board Monday to discuss ways to alleviate overcrowding at Opelousas Middle School.
The school, formerly known as South Street Elementary School, re-opened this school year after the closure of two other schools in Opelousas.
Board members want the issue addressed before next school year. They say if nothing changes, the school's population will grow next year making the problem worse.
The special meeting will be at 4 pm at 1013 Creswell Lane in Opelousas.
