Fifth person arrested in drive-by shooting that left 15-year-old hospitalized

OPELOUSAS, La. — A fifth person has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that left a 15-year-old hospitalized.

Sincere Stevenson, 17, of Opelousas, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of principal to attempted first degree murder (five counts), principal to assault by drive-by shooting (five counts), and violation of a firearm free zone.

The victim was walking home from a party with some others in September when a car pulled up to their group and someone shot at them, according to police.

Officials say the shooting was the result of on an ongoing feud between students at Opelousas High that resulted in a fight that occurred on August 28, 2019.

Eleven students were charged regarding the fight incident.
