A front is going to be pushing through the region late Friday bringing us a round of active weather as we wrap up the work week and push forward into the weekend.
Showers will work their way into Acadiana during the evening and overnight hours, so if you have evening plans a backup plan wouldn't be a bad idea.
Rain will be fairly light and moderate with the occasional thunderstorm mixed in, in fact, a few of these thunderstorms may become severe in western portions of Acadiana.
While the chance of severe weather isn't overly likely it is greater than zero so it's worth a mention that damaging winds may be the biggest issue with the possibility of a quick spin up tornado.
The rain will be clearing the area by Saturday morning and the clouds will slowly start to push out of the area and clearing through the day as temperatures drop.
A cool and clear weekend is coming up across the region with highs in the 60s.
