It's September the first day of meteorological fall, the long hot days of summer a thing of the past; just don't walk outside where a quick glance at the thermometer tells you we've got a long way to go until fall.

Temperatures are expected to climb above average all week with highs settling somewhere in the mid 90s through the rest of the week, heat index well into the triple digits.

Sunshine will be the predominant feature with a few isolated showers possible on Monday, although not overly likely.

This will be the start of a very quiet weather pattern which will stay hot and clear through the rest of the week and even into the weekend.
