It's shaping up to be a very soggy work week across Acadiana with showers popping up through the middle of the day and lasting into the early evening.
This doesn't mean that it will be wall to wall rainfall, in fact showers will remain widely scattered and sporadic which will allow for quick breaks in the rain giving the ground a chance to drain.
The on and off again showers will be with us through the remainder of the work week, with rain chances increasing on Thursday and Friday.
Acadiana's showers are rooted in a layer of deep tropical moisture that is pushing in from the Gulf of Mexico and fueling a lot of the showers we'll deal with this week.
Later on this week we'll have another surge of tropical moisture coming in from the Caribbean which shows a small chance for further development later this week.
There's a little bit of shear in the Gulf which may hamper some development and so far models have not picked up on any development or intensification.
Still though this is the time of year when we need to pay real close attention to any wave that's getting into the Gulf of Mexico, and regardless of development it's still expected to bring showers into Acadiana.
