On Saturday, St. Landry Parish saw the greatest increase in coronavirus cases and deaths in Acadiana.
St. Landry's numbers grew by 14 confirmed cases for a total of 133. Two new deaths were reported, for a total of 20.
Lafayette Parish saw the greatest increase in positive cases alone - 18 new cases were reported on Saturday, for a total of 414.
St. Mary Parish now has 143 cases and 11 reported deaths, with an additional six cases and two deaths reported since Friday. At least 5 deaths in St. Mary have been reported at Legacy Nursing Home in Franklin. 20 residents and 10 staff members there had tested positive for COVID-19 as of Thursday.
St. Martin is now up by 3 cases for a total of 187. They reported 2 additional deaths on Saturday bringing their total to 12. Calcasieu also saw an additional 2 reported deaths, for a total of 18 deaths. They reported no new cases on Saturday.
Vermilion Parish is now reporting 2 new cases for a total of 30. No new deaths were reported there. Evangeline and Jeff Davis Parishes each are reporting 1 additional cases and no deaths. Evangeline now has a total of 43 cases and 0 deaths, while Jeff Davis has 53 cases and 5 reported deaths.
Acadia Parish now has 110 cases, and are reporting 1 additional death for a total of 7.
In total, Acadiana reported 46 new coronavirus cases on Saturday and an additional 9 deaths.
