Plenty of sunshine on a warm Thursday afternoon

Posted
and last updated

The forecast is looking good as we get ready to wrap up the work week and head into the weekend, and with a front on the way even out temperatures will be staying cool over the next couple of days.

Ahead of that front it is expected to be fairly warm with temperatures Thursday afternoon reaching into the upper 80s with mostly sunny skies and a light breeze coming in from the south around 5-10 mph.

A cold front will move through early Friday morning, with maybe a few light showers particularly for the northern half of Acadiana, but even with out any showers there will still be a solid layer of cloud cover for the first half of the day.

Clouds will slowly clear on Friday afternoon but with clear skies overnight we'll be able to see lows fall into the lower 50s and upper 40s by early Saturday morning.

After that it will be a perfect fall weekend with cool temperatures and plenty of sunshine.
