Nike has announced that the company will donate 30,000 pairs of shoes to "healthcare athletes" in the United States.

Pairs of the Nike Air Zoom Pulse, a shoe designed specifically for the "everyday hero," will be distributed to health systems in Chicago, Los Angeles, Memphis, New York City and within the Veterans Health Administration.

Along with the donation of the shoes, Nike says that 95,000 pairs of socks will be delivered to healthcare workers in Los Angeles and New York City.

Another 2,500 pairs of shoes will be donated to hospitals across Europe.

In total, the company says it will donate more than 140,000 pieces of footwear, apparel and equipment to healthcare workers combating COVID-19 around the world.
