Astronomers uncover 39 ancient galaxies using multiple space and ground-based observatories, according to CNN.
"These were previously invisible to us," said Tao Want, researcher and study author.
Given their age and distance, the galaxies were hidden from human view because their light is weak and stretched.
Information scientists learn from the galaxies can also provide new information about supermassive black holes.
The discovery of these galaxies contradicts the current known models of the universe.
