The final week of 2020 is here and true to form it looks like the final day of this turbulent year is going to be a stormy one with a front moving through on New Year's Eve.
Despite a stormy back half of the week the first few days are looking fairly quiet with mostly sunny skies across Acadiana and temperatures that will push into the low 70s.
Temperatures the next few days are going to be staying on the mild side and even overnight the lows will drop into the low 50s, the warmer weather will be accompanied by a bump in moisture ahead of Thursday's front.
Winds are coming in from the south, and are largely responsible for this bump in moisture as they start to pick up in speed over the next few days.
Clouds will thicken on Wednesday with a few scattered showers and the front will drop in on Thursday morning sparking heavy showers and possibly even some severe weather.
The chance for severe weather is there so be sure to stay weather aware on Thursday, the finer details of the event still look a little murky as we're still several days out.
Make sure to stay on top of the forecast this week and of course we'll have all those forecast details for you through the week.
