The Lafayette Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect they say stole from a local food truck.

At 11 p.m. on December 28, the suspect can be seen on video entering the parking lot of a convenience store located at the intersection of W. Congress Street and Rue du Belier Road.

The suspect then proceeds to a food truck parked there, defeats the lock, and enters the truck. The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of money, police say.

Police describe the vehicle as a gold Saturn with steel rims on one side of the vehicle and black rims on the other side of the vehicle. The vehicle displays a temporary license plate in the rear window and a second temporary license plate in the appropriate license plate area.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS or by using the P3 mobile app.
