The Vermilion Parish Department of Child and Family Services held their second annual Foster Care Christmas party today at Harvest Time Church in Abbeville.
Foster children and families enjoyed gumbo, cooked by the Sheriff's Office, as well as Christmas decorating and games.
"We're trying to have them enjoy this time of year, even though they may not be able to be with their families, that they are still worthy and are still going to get gifts and are still going to celebrate. There are still people that surround them that care about them," explained Jael Dugas, Foster Care Supervisor for Vermilion Parish.
