UPDATE: The house fire in Kaplan is out. KATC's Chris Welty was live at the scene, where the fire was extinguished around 10:15 p.m.
Kaplan Police confirmed crews were on the scene of a house fire on the corner of 8th St. and Trahan St.
Police say there was some kind of explosion and the house caught on fire.
Residents in the area also reported the fire started "following a loud explosion."
Police say no one was inside the home.
Several agencies responded to the fire, including Kaplan, Meaux, and Nunez Fire Departments.
Several streets in the area were roped off Saturday night as crews are continued their investigation.
A cause of the fire is unknown.
