An Acadiana principal showed her gratitude to faculty and staff this week for Teacher Appreciation Week through special gifts and an even more special gesture.

Principal of Delcambre Elementary Jodi Romero decided that, since she couldn't celebrate her teachers in person, she would head to each of their homes to honor them individually.

Romero drove to all 68 staff members' homes in one day - 14 hours and 285 miles - to hand deliver the gifts.

She delivered a sign for each teacher to put in their yard that reads, "Home of an amazing Delcambre Elementary staff member!" Along with that, a handwritten letter for each teacher explaining why they are special, brownies, and a bag of other goodies.

She made the trip in her vehicle, decorated with encouraging messages like "You work hard everyday to keep us an A!" and "I miss you!"
